Terms and Conditions
Last updated 2026-11-04
These terms are an agreement between you and UmeedForum (umeedforum.site). By creating an account or using the site you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
The service
UmeedForum is a free online forum where people in Pakistan can ask mental health questions, share stories and confessions, discuss them with others, and get general guidance from psychologists. Using the forum, asking questions and messaging psychologists is free. Psychologists can register for free.
Any therapy, sessions or fees you arrange directly with a psychologist are an agreement between you and that psychologist. UmeedForum is not a party to it and is not responsible for it.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, and 18 or older to view or post in 18+ topics.
- Give accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone has accessed your account.
- One person, one account. You are responsible for what is posted from your account.
Posting, including anonymously
- You can post openly or anonymously. Posting anonymously hides your identity from other users, but the rules below still apply and we can still act on your account.
- Each account can ask up to three questions a day (Pakistan time). Stories, confessions and replies are not limited.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give UmeedForum permission to store, display and format it on the site and in search results, and to generate hashtags and descriptions for it. This permission ends when you delete the post, apart from copies already in backups or shared by others.
What is not allowed
- Harassing, threatening, bullying or shaming anyone, or hate speech.
- Revealing someone else's identity, contact details, photos or private information without their consent.
- Encouraging or giving instructions for suicide, self-harm, eating disorders or drug use.
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, or sexually explicit images of anyone.
- Pretending to be a psychologist, doctor or another person, or giving false credentials.
- Selling medicines or prescribing medication.
- Spam, advertising, or asking members for money, except a psychologist mentioning their own professional services when asked.
- Anything illegal under Pakistani law, including under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
- Attacking, scraping or overloading the site, or trying to identify anonymous users.
We may edit or remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.
Psychologists
- Give your real name and a valid licence or registration number. We check it before marking you as verified, but verification is not an endorsement.
- Act professionally and within your qualifications, keep what members tell you confidential, and follow the ethical code of your profession.
- Public answers are general guidance. Make clear when someone needs an in-person assessment, a psychiatrist, or emergency care.
- Ratings and reviews come from members. Don't post fake reviews or pressure members to rate you.
Private messages
Members can message verified psychologists, and both names are always shown. Psychologists can block members. Use messages respectfully; the rules above apply to them too.
No warranty and limitation of liability
UmeedForum is provided "as is". We try to keep it available, accurate and safe, but we cannot guarantee that it will always work, that content is accurate, or that any psychologist's advice is right for you. Content is written by users, not by UmeedForum.
